Jamie, a former standout in the German Pro League, has successfully transitioned into a coaching role, demonstrating remarkable prowess in this new phase of his career. He began his coaching journey with the Elmira Enforcers in the USPHL, steering the newly-formed team to the national championship quarterfinals in their debut season. His coaching credentials were further enhanced recently as the head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers Elite under-16 and under-18 teams, showcasing his strategic expertise and leadership.
Before embarking on his professional hockey career, Jamie developed his skills in the junior hockey ranks with the Waterloo Blackhawks in the USHL. He also played NCAA Division 1 hockey at the University of New Hampshire, further refining his on-ice capabilities. A vital part of his hockey journey includes his time with our Club, where he played midget hockey for Team Comcast, notably contributing to the team's silver medal win at the 2008 USA Hockey 16U National Championships.
Regarding his recent appointment at the Black Bear National Academy, Jamie stated: “First off I want to thank Chris Kanaly and Murray Gunty for allowing me the opportunity to be part of the Black Bear National Academy. I’m beyond excited to work alongside the staff we’ve put together. Our goal is to establish a winning culture and to develop our players on and off the ice. I look forward to embarking on this new journey, moving guys on to the next level and helping my players be the best player/person they can be.”
